Using Wyndham Rewards points to book Vacasa vacation rentals has been one of the absolute best ways to stretch your points — especially if you prefer more space, privacy, or simply want something better than a standard Wyndham hotel room. Unfortunately, that partnership is officially coming to an end.

As of November 30, 2025, you’ll no longer be able to make new Vacasa reservations or modify existing ones using Wyndham points. Any new or modified bookings must have a checkout date of January 31, 2026, or an earlier date. After that? This door officially closes.
Let’s break down what this partnership was, why it was so valuable, what’s changing, and how to book while you still can.
Why Vacasa Was Such a Big Deal for Wyndham Members
Vacasa is basically the “professionally-managed” version of Airbnb — full homes, condos, and villas with kitchens, washers/dryers, and all the amenities you wish a hotel had.
The redemption sweet spot came from being able to use Wyndham points instead of cash for these rentals—and not just any redemption — top-tier value. When I booked my Vacasa stay in Maui, I used 67,500 Wyndham points for a five-night stay in a one-bedroom condo at Honua Kai Resort with the infamous Duke’s Beach House Restaurant on-site. The cash price? Roughly $2,500.

My family booked a two-bedroom condo in the same resort using points as well — and it was perfect. Fully stocked with a full kitchen, washer/dryer, ocean view — the kind of setup you don’t get at a typical Wyndham hotel.

That was when the structure was simple and sweet: 15,000 points per bedroom, per night. If you had a Wyndham Rewards credit card, you also received 10% off award stays, reducing the points required to 13,500 per bedroom, per night.
So that two-bedroom condo in Maui would’ve cost 30,000 points per night, or 27,000 points for cardholders.
The Updated Structure
The redemption formula has since been “re-evaluated” and is way less generous.
Here’s the current breakdown:
- 15,000 points per bedroom, per night if the average cost per bedroom (after taxes and fees) is $250 or less.
- 30,000 points per bedroom, per night if the average cost per bedroom is $250.01 – $500.
- Properties with a rate of $500 or more per bedroom, per night are no longer eligible for redemption.
In short, that amazing $2,500 Maui condo? It would now price out of the range entirely. This change alone drastically limits Vacasa’s value — and combined with the partnership ending, this redemption path is fading fast.
What You Need to Know
Here’s everything you should keep in mind before the cutoff:
- Last day to make or modify a Vacasa booking: November 30, 2025
- Last eligible checkout date: January 31, 2026
- All existing reservations (even beyond January 31) will still be honored.
- You must call to book using points — online booking is not available.
- Some inventory may already be limited due to system updates and sunset transition.
If you’ve been stacking Wyndham points waiting for the perfect redemption — now’s the time to lock something in.
How to Book with Vacasa Using Wyndham Points
Since this was never an online process, you’ll need to do it the old-fashioned way: by phone.
- Browse available Vacasa rentals on Vacasa.com.
- Write down the property name or listing ID.
- Call Wyndham Rewards at 1-800-441-1034 to confirm availability and book with your points.
- Mention if you’re a Wyndham Rewards credit cardholder to receive your 10% discount.
- Review the cancellation policy before finalizing.
If you’re outside the U.S., you can visit Wyndham’s Contact Us page for the correct international number.
What This Means Going Forward
For years, Vacasa redemptions gave Wyndham Rewards real aspirational value. You could book ski cabins, beach villas, and family condos that would’ve cost thousands in cash — all on points.
Without that option, Wyndham returns to its traditional hotel lineup. Still fine, but nowhere near as exciting. If you’re sitting on a large balance of Wyndham points, this is your last chance to redeem for true high-end value before the door closes.
Final Thoughts
Vacasa was one of the few ways Wyndham Rewards could truly compete with Hyatt or Marriott in terms of redemption quality. Losing it is a blow — but also a reminder to use your points strategically, not emotionally.
If you’ve been saving up for that dream cabin or beachfront condo, book it now while the option’s still on the table because after November 30, 2025, you will no longer be able to redeem your Wyndham Reward points at Vacasa rental properties.
