Updated: October 2025

Amazon Prime Day is back this fall with even deeper discounts—and one of the easiest ways to maximize your discount is by using Shop with Points at checkout. By redeeming just one point from your eligible credit card rewards program, you may be able to unlock up to 50% off, with some offers providing up to $80 in instant savings on eligible Amazon orders.

What Is Shop with Points?

Amazon partners with several major credit card programs to allow eligible cardholders to redeem rewards points directly at checkout. During promotional windows like Prime Day, you can stack these rewards with already discounted prices to unlock targeted offers—even if you only redeem 1 point.

We’ve included direct links to a few of the top offers below, along with a screenshot showing all current eligible programs.

Example: How I Used Shop with Points to Save Over 50% on Apple AirPods

During the last Amazon Prime Day, I purchased the Apple AirPods Pro 2 Wireless Earbuds, which originally retail for $249.99. They were marked down to $159.99 as part of the Prime Day sale.

By using my targeted 40% off Amex Shop with Points offer (activated with just 1 Membership Rewards point and using promo code 714, capped at $60 off), I received an additional $40 discount at checkout—bringing my total to $119.99. That’s over 52% in total savings, stacked with the existing sale price.

What the Deal Looks Like Today (October 7, 2025)

Today, the same Apple AirPods Pro 2 are listed at $169.00 on Amazon. With my same 40% Shop with Points offer still active:

This time, I was offered 40% off with 714 points needed, allowing for up to $60 off! Still not a terrible deal for points redemption!

Even at the current sale price, this deal still delivers $140 off retail—and if you’re targeted for the 50% offer, your savings could be even greater.

How to Save Up to 50% Using Shop with Points

Step 1: Enroll and Link Your Cards

Use the links below to check if your rewards program is eligible. If your card is not yet linked, follow the prompts to enroll in Shop with Points. In some cases, you may need to wait 24 hours for the offer to show up.

Step 2: Shop and Redeem

  1. Add eligible items sold and shipped by Amazon to your cart.
  2. At checkout, it may default to using your points to cover the entire purchase. Change that so only 1 point (or 1 cent) or $5 for the 714 offer is applied.
  3. You’ll then see the discount applied to your order, with the promo offer reflecting after 1 point is redeemed.
  4. Your targeted discount will apply automatically if your account qualifies.

Do not leave your Amazon account set to automatically pay with points, especially for full redemptions—most points are more valuable when transferred to travel partners.

Important Notes

  • These Shop with Points promotions are targeted and often limited to one use per account.
  • Offers may change or expire without notice—shop early to lock in the best discounts.
  • Most offers do not stack across different banks—check each card individually.
  • Ensure items are sold and shipped by Amazon to be eligible.

Stack Even Further: Amex Offer – Earn 1,500 Points at Amazon

In addition to using Shop with Points for up to 50% off, you may be targeted for a separate American Express Offer available in your Amex account:

Spend $50 or more at Amazon, earn 500 Membership Rewards® points — up to 3 times.
Expires: October 25, 2025

That means you could earn 1,500 points total when you spend $150.

You don’t need to break it into three separate $50 transactions—purchases of $100 or even $150 will still trigger the bonus (as long as the total qualifies). This can be a valuable way to earn back points on purchases you were already planning to make.

Note: The Shop with Points discount is a one-time use offer per issuer, so be strategic—unless you’re targeted with similar offers on multiple cards (Amex, Chase, Citi, etc.).

Make sure to activate this Amex Offer in your account before checking out. Offers are targeted and may not be available to all users.
