From now until November 10th, you can transfer your Membership Rewards points to Flying Blue (Air France/KLM) and get a 20% bonus on points. If you’ve seen my previous post in our insider Facebook Group, you’ll know they also had targeted offers for 20,000 bonus points when you spend $1,000 on KLM or Air France flights. This is the perfect opportunity to stack those rewards!

Stack and Maximize Points

By transferring your points during the bonus period, you’ll get a 20% bonus AND can possibly earn 20,000 bonus points when you spend $1,000 on KLM or Air France flights. The taxes and fees from award bookings count towards the spending requirement, meaning you can use your points for flights and still earn extra points on the necessary taxes and fees. Make sure to check your Offers to see if you’re targeted.

How I Maximized This Offer:

Last year, I booked three business class award flights—ORD to Barcelona, Barcelona to ORD, and ORD to Nice—for a total of 150,000 points (50,000 points per flight). The taxes and fees amounted to just over $1,000, which triggered the 20,000 bonus points. I used a card that earned me 4x points on flights, so I walked away with an additional 24,000 points in total. I was able to use those points to travel to Europe again in 2023, with just 20,000 points total for a roundtrip!

My Total Savings:

I used just 126,000 points for three business-class flights to Europe—42,000 points each! The cash price for those flights would have been over $14,000. This is why taking advantage of promotions like these can make a huge difference in your travel planning.

Transfer Your Points

To transfer your points, follow these simple steps:

  1. Go to your Account – Navigate to the “Earn and Redeem” section.
  2. Select Transfer to Partners – Choose Flying Blue as the transfer partner. If you don’t have a Flying Blue account, it’s easy to create one within the portal.
  3. Choose the Number of Points – Remember, transfers must be in 1,000-point increments. Always check award availability before transferring to avoid points sitting in an account unused.
  4. Book Your Trip – After the estimated transfer time, log in to the Flying Blue partner site to complete your booking.
