Are you a frequent guest at Hyatt hotels? If so, then you might already know about their loyalty program – World of Hyatt (WOH). It offers one of the best point redemption values for free night stays with no concealed charges or taxes. Hyatt has quickly become my preferred choice for hotel stays, and last fall, I even achieved their highest elite status – Globalist, which entitles me to additional benefits such as complimentary suite upgrades, free parking on award stays, free breakfast, and more.

Did you know about the Brand Explorer, a hidden gem in this program? Let’s explore how you can use the Brand Explorer Program to earn free nights and enhance your Hyatt experience.

What is the Brand Explorer Program?
The Brand Explorer Program is a unique feature of the World of Hyatt loyalty program that rewards guests for diversifying their stays across different Hyatt brands. Instead of simply accumulating points, the Brand Explorer Program encourages members to explore Hyatt’s diverse portfolio of brands, from luxurious Park Hyatt resorts to trendy Hyatt Centric hotels.

How Does it Work?
The concept is simple yet rewarding. By staying at 5 unique Hyatt brands (exclusions apply), members earn a free night award at a Category 1-4 hotel, up to 5 Free Nights! Each time you stay at a new Hyatt brand, you make progress toward achieving Brand Explorer milestones.

The best part about this program is that once you have signed up for your World of Hyatt account, you don’t need to do anything else to take advantage of this benefit. You don’t need to register for this benefit, and it doesn’t expire – you can meet these requirements at your own pace.

In 2024, I traveled extensively and stayed at over 10 brands within three months, earning two Free Night Certificates. I am strategically redeeming them where I get maximum value. Category 4 hotels can earn up to 18,000 points per night and, depending on peak or non-peak times. Before the recent category changes, I was about to redeem one at the Thompson Chicago, which cost over $600 per night during our stay.

Qualifying Stays:
Another amazing benefit of this program is that rooms booked with cash or award stays (either with points or FNC) qualify and count toward your Brand Explorer Rewards!

If you don’t hold a World of Hyatt Credit Card, no worries – I booked most of my WOH stays with my Chase Ultimate Reward points. As a cardholder of either the Chase Sapphire Preferred or Reserved or Chase Business Ink Preferred, you can transfer your points at a 1:1 ratio.

These are some of the most valuable Award Travel enthusiasts get from their Ultimate Reward points for hotel stays, as the only other WOH transfer partner is the BILT card. On average, I’ve been able to get over 2 cents per point (cpp) from redeeming my points at Hyatt.

Earning WOH Free Nights: The Pathway to Rewards

Discovering Diversity: Begin your journey by exploring the variety of Hyatt brands. Whether you prefer the elegance of Andaz, the convenience of Hyatt Place, or one of their all-inclusive resorts, such as Secrets Resorts & Spa each brand offers a distinct atmosphere and experience.

Tracking Progress: Monitor your Brand Explorer progress through your World of Hyatt account. As you stay at different Hyatt brands, you’ll see your milestones achieved and rewards earned. To check in the WOH app, go to “Account” and select the “Brand Explorer” dropdown.

Unlocking Free Nights: Once you’ve stayed at five unique Hyatt brands, congratulations! You’ve unlocked a free night award, redeemable at any Category 1-4 Hyatt hotel or resort worldwide. This is your opportunity to indulge in a complimentary stay and explore even more of what Hyatt has to offer.

This Free Night Award is valid for 1 year from the date of issuance and must be redeemed for a reservation with a checkout date before the award expiration date.

Tips for Maximizing Your Brand Explorer Experience

Plan Strategically: When booking your stays, consider the diverse range of Hyatt brands available at your destination. Opt for properties that offer unique experiences to accelerate your progress.

Embrace Exploration: Don’t be afraid to step outside your comfort zone and try new Hyatt brands. Each one has something special to offer, whether it’s modern design, local charm, or top-notch amenities. I like to do some hotel hopping on my vacations to diversify my experience, but I also check off another Hyatt brand!

Stay Informed: Keep up-to-date with the latest promotions and offers from World of Hyatt. Special promotions may accelerate your progress or offer additional rewards for Brand Explorer achievements.

How to Enroll in the World of Hyatt program:
If you are not already a WOH member, registration is free and easy to complete. I recommend setting up these accounts early on before your stay as you embark on your Award Travel journey.

The World of Hyatt Brand Explorer Program opens the door to a world of rewards for adventurous travelers. By diversifying your stays across Hyatt’s portfolio of brands, you not only earn free nights but also enrich your travel experiences with unique accommodations and exceptional hospitality.
