A few weeks ago, it was announced that Small Luxury Hotels of the World (SLH) and World of Hyatt (WOH) have decided to end their partnership, as Hilton has now partnered with SLH. This change could stem from WOH’s partnership with Mr. & Mrs. Smith luxury boutique hotels, which also cater to the same market as SLH and will soon be available to WOH members.

What does this change mean for World of Hyatt members?

For existing eligible paid and award stays at SLH via WOH, reservations with a check-in date on or before May 15, 2024, will be honored, and benefits will be earned. For stays with check-in dates after May 15, 2024, the stay will be honored, but World of Hyatt benefits like breakfast, earning points, and nights toward tier status will no longer be available at SLH.

New reservations can be made until May 15, 2024, for stays with a checkout date before May 15, 2024. So, to use your WOH points for SLH, be sure to book and stay by May 15th, 2024, which, unfortunately, is a very short notice and timeframe.

What are Small Luxury Hotels of the World (SLH)?

Small Luxury Hotels of the World encompasses over 500 boutique hotels in 90 countries, featuring intimate settings and personalized service. Popular destinations include the historic charm of Hotel Heritage in Bruges, the breathtaking beauty of Nayara Springs in Costa Rica, and the luxurious accommodations of The Chedi Club Tanah Gajah in Bali, Amani Boutique Hotel Zanzibar (Zanzibar, Tanzania), and Canaves Oia Suites (Santorini, Greece), offering discerning travelers unique experiences in picturesque locales worldwide.

It is sad to hear about the end of the partnership, as one of the most memorable and favorite Hyatt stays was at the Hotel San Regis in Paris. It is located in the 8th arr, Champ Eslyss area, with a short walk to the Eiffel Tower and luxury shops. The hotel and the staff were amazing, and although they are not subject to honor elite benefits, they still upgraded us to a Deluxe Room, greeted us with champagne and hor d’oeuvres (although their kitchen was closed), left macarons and a handwritten note in our rooms for the birthday girls, and more.

They also have an SLH in Turks and Caicos, which is the only one located in the famous Grace Bay area. It will be interesting to see how the partnership with Hilton will be, but due to Hilton pricing, it won’t be anything close to the rates paid at Hyatt. We shall see. I will be sure to keep you updated when more announcements come from the Hilton | SLH hotel partnership and WOH | Mr. & Mrs. Smith.
