From October 15th to November 30th, you can use points from our favorite bank and take advantage of the 40% transfer bonus to Virgin Flying Club. This is one of the biggest bonuses we’ve seen from them, so it’s a great time to get your travel booked!
Here are some of the best uses of your Flying Club Miles:
- Delta Airlines flights to Europe: Delta Air Lines releases award flights to its partners, such as Virgin Atlantic, and one of the best redemptions for your points can be for its business class Delta One flights to Europe. Typically, flights to Europe can be secured for as low as 50,000 Flying Club miles roundtrip in Economy and 50,000 miles one-way in Delta One. With the 40% transfer bonus, you can fly to Europe on Delta One for 36,000 Points.
- Hawaiian Airlines’ new Dreamliner First Class: With the transfer bonus, you can book Hawaiian Airlines’ new first-class Dreamliner flights for as low as 29,000 points, as saver fares can be as low as 40K miles each way. You will need to call Virgin Atlantic Customer Service to provide your desired dates and award availability, and they will take it from there.
- All Nippon Airways (ANA) “The Room“: ANA has world-class business and first-class products, including the infamous “The Room” suites. This is actually on my bucket list to experience as well, and this transfer bonus is another use of your Flying Club miles. Business class awards between the US, Europe, and Japan cost 45,000-47,500 points one-way, while first-class awards between the US or Europe and Japan cost 72,500-85,000 points one-way. This can now be booked even lower with the transfer bonus. They do charge fuel-imposed surcharges, so it can be more expensive than other airlines.

- Enter Travel Details: Input departure city, destination, travel dates, and other relevant information.

Bonus Tip: Booking Partner Awards
To maximize your Virgin Atlantic miles with partner awards such as ANA’s “The Room” or Hawaiian Airlines’ Dreamliner flights, you’ll need to find availability on the respective partner websites. For ANA, using United Airlines to search may be better as the ANA website requires searching for roundtrip bookings only, and it can be difficult to find award availability at times. Once you have found availability, contact Virgin Atlantic’s Flying Club customer service team at 1-800-862-8621 with the necessary details to assist you in booking the partner award using your miles.
Keep in Mind: Taxes and Surcharges
While Virgin Flying Club offers many great redemption options, one thing to watch out for is the sometimes higher taxes and surcharges, especially on Virgin Atlantic flights. However, with the 40% bonus, you can still come out ahead, as the extra points can help offset these added costs.
Maximize Your Transfers
This 40% transfer bonus is available until November 30th, so don’t miss the opportunity to top off your Virgin Flying Club account and find some nice redemptions. We took advantage of a similar bonus earlier this year of 30% to book our Virgin Voyage Celebration Cruise for 89,000 points – with this bonus, we would have saved 6,000 more points per cabin! Whether you’re looking for a business class flight, a Virgin Voyages cruise, or a luxurious stay in Japan, now is the perfect time to turn your points into unforgettable experiences.
